Holiday Party 2021!

Everyone had a great time at the Holiday Party in December 2021.

Scotty and Robin made signature cocktails! Thanks to Dick & Claudia Woodland and Miles & Kathleen Hanshaw for bringing wine, Anita Becerra and Bruce Anderson for bringing beer! Anita also contributed to the table decorations. Scotty Smith presented a wrap-up of 2021 accomplishments: we had cruises, a unique car show and we doubled our membership! And we did that in just the last six months! We are getting ready for a full & fun calendar for 2022!

Keith Kirkland is ready for that cocktail concoction served up by Robin and Scotty Smith.

The club donated $500 to the Warbirds Museum. We are very grateful that Estrella Warbirds Museum makes this fabulous hall available and the Woodland Auto Display fits our club's mission to promote interest in the preservation, restoration and/or modification of all classic automobiles and trucks.

The check to Warbirds Museum is presented by board members Pete Meyers (left), Miles Hanshaw (right) to Dick Woodland (center).

We also discussed our youth program and working with John Stokes, Automotive Division Chair, at Cuesta College. We will be presenting $500 to the Cuesta College Automotive Program to support students visiting the SEMA show. We are looking forward to supporting students in automotive, welding and fabrication technology in local high schools and Cuesta College.

Robin Smith, secretary, is presented the Member of the Year plaque by Miles Hanshaw, 2nd Vice President.

Ginny Madrid, treasurer, presented the Good Samaritan Award posthumously for member Ray Barba, whom the club lost in 2021. Ray was a very generous supporter of club activities for many years. Ginny also spoke about the passing of member Noel Carpenter, who was a pioneer in the development of SEMA and the longtime writer of the Cider Creek Gazette. Both Ray and Noel will be missed.

Skip Bellinghausen (with wife Diane) spoke about the work taking place to develop a Veteran's Memorial in Paso Robles. The club supports this effort and we look forward to fundraising to help make the memorial a reality!

The evening began with appetizers and a tour of the Woodland Auto Display. We had a fun gift exchange, as well as a delicious dinner prepared by Larry Eastwood and staff - thank you!

Pat Lewis is working on a Holiday Party book with all the pictures. If you have any pictures to contribute, please send them to Robin Smith at goldenstateclassicscc@gmail.com.
